Golf Course Rules


 

1.  General Golf Rules

A.  Monday Closing - The Golf Shop, golf course, par 3, putting greens, practice greens and golf learning center will be closed on Monday. Violations will result in suspension of privileges and or fines.
B.  Golf Shop Hours – Tuesday through Friday the Golf Shop will open at 7:30a.m. daily and close at 5:30p.m. Saturday and Sunday the Golf shop will open at 7:00a.m. and close at 5:30p.m. (Shop will close at 6:30p.m. during daylight savings time)
C.  Registration – All Players must register in the Golf Shop prior to play. Failure to do so will result in suspension of privileges and /or fines.
D.  Closing the Golf Course – The Golf Committee, D of G, of Golf Course Superintendent retains the privilege of closing any part or the entire course at any time without notice.
E.  Rules Applicable – U.S.G.A. “Rules of Golf” will be observed – local golf rules in Golf Shop.
F.  Fivesomes or More Prohibited – Fivesomes or more are not permitted at any time. Violations will result in suspension of privileges and or fines.

G.  Food and Beverage - All food and beverage must be purchased at the club. Failure to honor this rule will result in a suspension of privileges and or fines.
H.  Fishing – Fishing on Idle Hour property is allowed on Monday Only. Fishing is NOT permitted during Monday Outings.

J.  Pedestrian Traffic – Due to errant golf balls, pedestrian traffic is strictly prohibited during normal golfing hours, 8:00a.m. to dark.
K.  Attire – Appropriate golf attire is required for all players playing or practicing.
Gentleman – Shirts with collars and sleeves and always tucked in must be worn at all
times. Slacks must be worn, except shorts that are no more than 3 ½” above the knee. No tank tops, T-Shirts, bathing suits, sweat pants, denim jeans, or
athletic shorts are permitted. Short sleeve mock neck shirts will not be permitted on the
golf course or the practice facilities.
Ladies - Dresses, skirts, skorts, slacks, golf shorts, blouses and golf shirts are considered appropriate attire. Dresses, skirts, skorts, slacks and golf shorts must come within 4 inches of the knee. No halter tops, cut-offs, sweat pants, warm up suits, denim of any kind, tennis, swimming outfits, jogging outfits, athletic shorts, exercise tights or short shorts are permitted. Tank tops, spaghetti straps, bare midriffs and revealing clothing are not permitted. The Golf Committee and Golf Staff reserve the right to determine if a player’s clothing is considered appropriate and may request a change of attire before the player is permitted on the course.
Juniors – Same attire as above. Shirts must be tucked in and headwear worn properly.
L.  All players must have their own bag and clubs.
 

2.  Practice Facility

A.  Hours – The driving range tee at the warm-up end will open at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday thru
Sunday. The Golf Learning Center will open at 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday thru Saturday.
B.  Hitting Area – Designated between the ropes – or off the mats no exceptions.
C.  Range Balls – Must stay in the practice area. Use on the golf course is strictly prohibited.
D.  Dress Code – Same requirements under rule # 1 – K.
 

3.  Golf Guests

A.  Restrictions on Invitations to Local Guests – Members may invite local non-members of the Club to play golf, subject to conditions. 
B.  Other Restrictions - There must be a member present in each golfing foursome unless prior authorization is given by the golf committee and/or Golf Pro Shop.

 

4.  Guest Fees/Cart Fees

A.  Guest Fee 18 Holes - $100.00 + tax, non-family / $60.00 + tax family members
BGuest Fee 9 Holes - $50.00 + tax, non-family / $30.00 + tax family members
C.  Cart Fees – 18 holes $25.00 + tax / 9 holes $15.00 + tax
D.  Junior Green Fee - $40.00 + tax / Juniors 18 and under
E. Unaccompanied Guest - (prior authorization required) $150.00 + tax
 

5.  Golf Tee Times

A.  Starting Times – All starting times must be obtained through the Golf Shop. The golf operations staff will determine how the tee times are administered on a daily basis.
B.  Failure to Appear for a Starting Time – All players are asked to be prompt by showing up for their scheduled tee time five minutes early. If your group is not present and ready at your starting time, the following group(s) will be sent ahead. Your group will then be worked in at the next available time so as not to disturb the pace of play.
C.  Pace of Play – You are required to keep pace with the group in front of you. The Golf Committee has established four hours or less as the pace standard for Idle Hour.

D.  Registration – All golfers must register in the Golf Shop before play. Failure to do so will result in suspension of privileges and or fines.
 

6.  Golf Cart Rules

Failure to adhere to Golf Cart Rules will result in suspension and/or fines.

A.  Driving Policy – Carts should remain on paths at all times at tees and greens. No carts shall be driven within 30 yards of any green or tee (except on a path). No cart shall be driven on any slope, hill, or mound around a green or tee.
B.  90-Degree Rule – Effective daily unless the “Cart Path Only” sign is posted by the Golf Course Superintendent.

C.  Age – Each driver must be at least sixteen (16) years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
D.  Bags on Cart – No more than two bags on a standard golf cart.
E.  Person Renting Cart – All people renting a cart are responsible for the cart and passenger.
F.  Return Policy – Return golf cart to the cart area after completion of the round.
G.  Yellow Flag – Given to players who have a medical condition. Any member who requires a yellow flag must submit a yearly request from their doctor to the Golf Committee for approval. (Yellow Flags will not be permitted on Red Tag Days)

a.  Golf carts must remain on the cart path around tees and greens (no closer than 100 feet from the green – no exceptions).
b.  Avoid all worn and wet areas.
c.  The Golf Committee or Golf Course Superintendent has the privilege to not allow yellow flags without notice due to the condition of the golf course and weather.
d.  Failure to adhere to these rules will result in suspension of privileges and/or fines.
 

7.  Trolley Usage

Personal trolleys may be used free of charge.
 

8.  Handicaps/U.S.G.A Rules

A.  Handicapping – Handicaps will be computed under the supervision of the Golf
Committee, Handicap Committee, and Golf Professional.
B.  U.S.G.A. – All handicaps will be in accordance with the U.S.G.A.
C.  Amateur Status – Restriction on prizes is within accordance with the U.S.G.A. policy.D.  Posting Scores - Scores must be posted within 72 hours of the round played including away and tournament scores. Failure to post scores in a timely manner will result in the entry of a replacement score of an automatic 72.
 

9.  Golf Course Etiquette

A.  Divots – Players must fill every divot with sand (avoid taking divots on practice swings).
B.  Ball Marks – On the greens, please repair yours and all other visible ball marks and avoid dragging feet.
C.  On the tees – Tee your ball between and not forward of the markers. Please pick up broken tees.
D.  Practice - Must be confined to designated practice areas. Practice on the golf course is strictly forbidden. The Golf Professional is authorized to stop any infringement.
E.  Walkers - Golf Bags are not to lie or stand on the greens.
F.  Golf Carts - Never leave the golf cart in front of the green where you will have to go back to get it.
H.  Bunkers - Rake all bunkers after use. Rakes shall be placed to the outside of the bunker away from the greenside.
 

10.  Junior Golfers - Any Golfer age 18 and Under

A.  Adult Supervision – The golf shop staff will be responsible for administering and monitoring of all junior golf play
B.  Golf Clubs – A junior golfer must have their own set of clubs and bag to play
C.  Locker Rooms – No one less then eighteen (18) years of age is allowed in the Ladies

Locker Room and no one less than (21) years of age is allowed in the Men’s Locker Room.

D.  Restrictions of Junior Play
Tuesday thru Friday - Tee off anytime
Saturday - Tee off after 2:00p.m./ Morning available when accompanied by an adult or approved by Golf Shop.
Sunday - Tee off after 2:00p.m./ Morning & afternoon available when accompanied by an adult or approved by Golf Shop.

All practice areas are the same as the golf course availability. The golf staff has the right to waive certain rules under certain circumstances. The degree of play on the golf course and the ability of the Junior Golfer will determine these exceptions. Please call at 477-2092. It is anticipated that any such exception will not be granted between March 1st and October 1st.
E.  Cooperation Requested – Members are asked to be cooperative and helpful toward all junior golfers. Players are asked to observe these regulations and any modifications that may be adopted by the Golf Committee. The Golf Professional is asked to see that no infractions occur. Your cooperation will avoid embarrassment and add pleasure to the use of the course by all members.
 

11.  Events

A.  Calendar - An annual Activities Calendar will be e-mailed at the beginning of each year and monthly updates will be provided.
BSign Up – Will be done through the Golf Shop or events sign-up emails. Please call 477-2092 for the
Golf Shop with any questions.
C.  Cancellation Policy - Failure to cancel out of an event within 48 hours will result in a charge of the event cost.
 

12.  Lightning Policy

It is mandatory to leave the golf course immediately once the lightning siren is sounded.
Play will be suspended until a second siren is sounded to restart play.
Failure to adhere to these rules will result in a suspension of privileges and or fines.
Members will be held responsible for their guests. Do not finish the hole!


Any violation of the rules or policies will result in a penalty process that begins with a verbal or written warning followed by a minimum fine of $50 and finally suspension.
