Golf Course Rules

1. Golfing facilities are available Tuesday through Sunday; all golf facilities are closed on Mondays unless otherwise posted. On days Idle Hour hosts a Monday Outing, the course will close until noon on Tuesdays.

2. Golf Shop Hours of Operation: • Tuesday through Friday: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm (6:30 during Daylight Savings Time) • Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 am – 5:30 pm (6:30 during Daylight Savings Time)

3. All golfers must register in the Pro Shop prior to play.

4. The Golf Committee or the Golf Course Superintendent may close the course/part of the course as needed.

5. USGA Rules of Golf are observed at Idle Hour; look for “local rules” on the scorecards or in the Pro Shop. 4

6. Idle Hour plays a maximum of 4 per group (no 5-somes) and the expected pace of play is 4 hours.

7. Fishing is prohibited at all times.

8. Pedestrian traffic is limited to “prior to 8:00 am” due to the inherent safety concerns of errant golf balls.

9. Proper Golf Attire at Idle Hour, including the practice facilities and Par 3 course: • Gentlemen: tucked shirts with collars and sleeves; slacks or shorts (no jeans) • Ladies: slacks, skirts, skorts and golf shorts (no jeans or athletic wear) When in doubt, ask the Pro Shop prior to play.

10. Guest Play: Accompanied guests are welcome at Idle Hour under the following guidelines • Local Guests: may play Idle Hour a maximum of 4 times per calendar year • Out of Town Guests: no restriction on the number of visits • Guest fees available in the Golf Shop

11. Golf carts are available for rent by licensed drivers 16+ years of age. Golf carts are restricted to the cart path only on all par 3 holes and at other times as instructed by the Pro Shop. Special privileges for handicap golfers are available; please see the Pro Shop for details.

12. The following are core responsibilities of all golfers everywhere, including at Idle Hour: • Divots are to be filled/topped with sand, including those in the rough • Ball Marks on the greens are to be promptly repaired; see the Pro Shop for the proper method to minimize damage • Tee your ball between and not forward of the markers, and please pick up broken tees • Walkers, please keep your golf bags off the greens at all times • Pace of Play is 4 hours. If you are not holding your place on the course, allow the players behind you to play through. • Bunkersshould be raked immediately after use. Rakes should be placed to the outside of the bunker away from the greenside

13. Junior golfers: Idle Hour enjoys a well-earned reputation of having a strong Junior Golf program. Members are asked to be cooperative and helpful to all Junior golfers. Junior Golf is under the discretion of the Pro Shop and generally available: • Tuesday through Friday: any open time available • Saturday: after 1:00 pm; prior to 1:00 if accompanied by an adult • Sunday: after 4:00 pm; prior to 4:00 if accompanied by an adult.

14. Events: The Pro Shop and Golf Committee publish an annual activities calendar with fun events scheduled throughout the year.
